On May 10, 2019, the 44th National Assembly passed a resolution to establish a Faculty of Medicine within the structure of the University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" in Burgas. Situated in Southeastern Bulgaria, the Faculty of Medicine at the University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" stands as the sole institution of its kind in the region. It is equipped with a modern university framework dedicated to training doctors with the educational qualification of "Master" and the professional title of "Doctor," adhering to the Ordinance on Uniform State Requirements.

Operating under the legislative framework of the Law on Higher Education and the Law on the Development of Academic Staff in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Faculty of Medicine functions in accordance with the regulatory documents of the University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" in Burgas.

Driven by its mission and primary objective, the Faculty of Medicine endeavors to produce highly skilled doctors who are in demand within the labor market. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the required exams, graduates receive a diploma attesting to their higher education achievement, along with the professional title of "Doctor" and the educational qualification of "Master."
